1 William BRINSMEAD ---------------------------------------- Birth: 1785, St Giles in the Wood Chr: 23 Oct 1785, St Giles in the Wood Death: 5 May 1838, St Giles in the Wood The Last Will and Testament of William BRINSMEAD yeoman of Allen Neck Farm in the parish of Great Torrington in the county of Devon. 1. That I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary BRINSMEAD the field called Madels Meadow in the parish of Great Torrington during her natural life and after her demise to be divided between the surviving legacy. 2. I give to my daughter Mary the wife of Joseph Davids the sum of £30 lawful money of Great Britain to be paid in twelve months after my decease. 3. I give unto Henry my eldest son £75 reduced of what I have already given him to be paid in twelve months after my decease. 4. To William my second son I give and bequeath all my stock in trade implements in husbandry, cattle and other effects after paying the legacies in this my life. 5. To Fanny and Susannah my daughters I give and bequeath £25 each excluding of what they have already received to be paid to each in three instalments the first instalment twelve months after my decease the second the second year and the third at the third year 6. Also Elizabeth my youngest Daughter I give and bequeath the sum of £60 to be paid in twelve annual instalments the first to be paid when she attains her twenty first year and to be followed on in rotation. And I appoint my friend Mr. James Gempton grocer Great Torrington a trustee for my wife Mary Brinsmead and my daughter Elizabeth Brinsmead. 7.
